Whilst not extensive, all of our animals form an important focal point for life on the farm. Cynthia our Gloucester Old Spot Pig has always been a firm favourite with children and adults alike. We also have Suki our Khuni Khuni and seeing her adorable piglets through a viewing window in the side of the sty, is always an exciting time and then to progress the development of the litter, makes for many a happy return visit.
Eric and Ernie our Pygmy Goats are real stars, when they feel like it they will readily feed from the hand but are at their most interesting when they feed on the table. What little posers!
We always try to keep interesting varieties of poultry with Welsummer, Maran, Laced Wing Wyandotte and Lavender Peking Bantams among the species. As well as providing us with deliciously healthy free range eggs, the true feel of the farm would not be complete without the presence of clucking chickens or that break of day crowing cock!
Photography
In addition to the obvious family day out pictures, many other opportunities exist at Torre Cider Farm for some very special photography.
There are always the animals, wagons, tractor and old traditional farm implements but the orchards are really a fantastic natural spectacle when in full bloom and always attract special interest.
Our cider making takes place in the autumn, when it is always busy around the yard and pressing shed. This provides something of a unique situation, to be able to witness and photograph cider making in full swing, one of the few traditional processes now being used today
